| Yet another opportunity to brag on my love...I'll keep it to a nice summary this time.

Total of $20.14 for:
- 20 x 4.5 lb. bags of Beneful dog food ($2.81 on sale, $3.50 coupon, so they gave her $.74 ea. for them!!)
- 5 bottles of Glass Plus
- 1 Publix Cheesy Shells
- 6 mentos gum
- 4 Jello fancy pudding packs
- 6 Uncle Ben's rice mixes
- 4-pack of tuna
- 100 1-qt. ziplocs
- 3 x French's mustard
- 2 frozen garlic cheese sticks
- 2 Bagelfuls
- 1 Spray and Wash with Resolve power
- 1 pk Crystal Lite packets
- 6-pk of Hershey's with Almonds
- 6-pk of bottled water
The perspective of the day is that this entire trip cost less than 4 of the 20 bags of dog food we got. God bless Publix.

| OK, y'all really aren't ready for this. If anyone dares challenge my wife in this area, I would like to see you. Let's start with the list and a picture (the box of wine is not involved here)...
- 3 boxes of Kellogg's cereal (Pops, Apple Jacks and Jumbo Rice Krispies)
- 1 gallon Publix Whole Milk
- 7 Cole's Cheese Garlic toast
- 1 Coles's Cheese Sticks
- 2 10 oz. Ragu spaghetti sauces
- 2 3-packs of Dial soap
- 2 60-packs Carefree pantyliners
- 1 Texas Toast croutons
- 1 Northland Cranberry-Blackberry Juice

- 2 Philadelphia Cream Cheese Spreads
- 2 24-packs of Pedigree Denta-stix
OK, so I'll then add a scan of the receipt so you can see that I'm not just making this up...yes, it's that amazing.
As you can see, the total comes to $19.87, savings at the bottom of $88.27!!! So basically, if everything had been regular price, no coupons, the bill would have been over $100.00 and we would have paid less than 20% of that.
"Seriously? How is that possible?" you are probably asking yourself...here's how it breaks down (BOGO = Buy One Get One for you newbies):

- 2 24-packs of Pedigree Denta-stix - gave us $.61 ea. ($1.89 - $2.50 coupon)
Anyway, that's my girl. I am so proud. It's become less of a hobby and more like a full-time job (on top of motherhood!) Anybody up for the challenge? Bring it on.
Daphne enjoyed being able to take her time at the store while Juniper and I got to get some daddy-daughter QT in. I love my life. I thank God multiple times a day for the blessing that is my wife, my daughter, my home, my job, my family.

| I think I'm actually about to sit down and do a quick blog!! Wow! So it must be about something that was really worth it...all the pics can be seen on picasa (www.picasaweb.google.com/scot.self).
Our trip to Charleston was great. It was great to see Nate, meet Jenn and Allie and see the 2 of them together, playing and getting to know each other...I'll keep this short and sweet and let mostly the pictures narrate, but the trip down on Thursday (the 26th) was uneventful and great...Juniper was an angel all the way there!! Too good to be true. Jenn made some yummy baked ziti for dinner and brownies for dessert. Allie and Junie got acquainted, playing... ...even took a bath together! She, of course, liked her Uncle Nate right away!
We all got along famously right off, of course. We played a few rounds of Scene It DVD until bed.
Friday morning, Daph, J and I went into town to explore. We went straight to the downtown area and parked right on Market St. and fed the meter all day (really only about $4 worth total). It was really beautiful on the boardwalk and we had quite a good time just wandering, looking at the wares the market vendors had and bought nothing. I loved this picture of J on the swing on the boardwalk.
We also (long story short) got some free tickets from a place that wants you to buy in to their timeshare type thing. We were planning to go to Middleton Place (an Old South plantation) on Saturday anyway, so figured what the heck. Having a hankering for some pizza and a beer, we ate lunch at Mellow Mushroom. Juniper had a blast, splashing water (which she has discovered an affinity for drinking as well as playing with). She's started saying wa-wa a LOT and will only drink it from a straw or cup from us and not from her own sippy cup?!? It's like she doesn't want a whole bottle of it, just some of ours...
Then we finished the day with a carriage ride, touring the city and getting all the inside scoop about the landmarks before heading back to Nate and Jenn's for dinner.
Jenn once again made Fancy mac n cheese, green beans and some lemon cupcakes for dessert.
Saturday we went to Middleton Place later than expected; Nate wasn't feeling well and Jenn had to be back for work later anyway, so we went on on our own...we stayed until well into the afternoon and I could put several dozen pictures here, but here are a few of my faves.

This is typical of the water thing I was talking about...we always have our own water bottles for ourselves and have to keep a straw handy!!
This Live Oak on the grounds there was thought to be more than 1000 years old and just last year lost the 2 branches you see above me...I think they said it was 38 feet in circumference!??!
There's a place where all the plantation animals would have been kept and it's basically a nice little petting zoo now... Though it was cloudy, it was a great day and the rain held off for us. We stayed until dinner time and intended to go to the only vegetarian restaurant we could find on the net in Charleston, but they were closed as they were moving, so we met the Renihan clan at the pizza place down the street from them...it was delicious. Another cute pic of the girls...look how Allie is a little taller than Juniper and she's, what, 6 months younger!??! We've got a tiny one on our hands :)
Sunday we headed our since they had more company and we went to a church near Nate and Jenn's on our way out...Jenn was heading to Savannah to pick up friends from the airport and Nate still wasn't feeling well, so we didn't get to go to their church this time. So we chose one that sounded like what we're used to and went and were pleasantly surprised. Left church and went on to Columbia, SC. The plan was to stay in a hotel and go to the zoo...we went on to the zoo for a few hours before they closed and checked out the Grizzly Bear and Elephants especially, since Birmingham doesn't have these (though we do have several things they didn't have!) J loves the zoo and we do too, plus it's free (as are MANY other zoos with our B'ham Zoo membership)! Just one pic of this... ...after a few hours of zoo, we went and found a hotel...it was WAY more than we were planning to spend, but it turned out that it included happy hour drinks and a great breakfast and they had an indoor pool, which we wanted so we could take J swimming, so we went for it...you only live once! (my gorgeous wife and sweet angel baby!) It was nice though and had a seperate living room area where we set Juniper up and we had our own King bed! Next morning, after a nice breakfast, we went back to the zoo (free still ) and did the whole thing, plus they had a nice botanical garden attached. Juniper was exhausted by the time we got going at the gardens (as you are probably too reading this!!), so we packed it up early and headed home. The ride home was almost as good, though she started getting really fussy toward the end...this is the view under the blanket we put up behind our seats.
After about 8 hrs or so, home at last and happy with her milk, the green chair and her Baby Praise DVD, all was well with the world again.
